I was just looking at the pictures of the church being built. It's my understanding that my grandfather Willie helped build the church too. I loved seeing the inside pictures. You can only see the outside on google maps! I told my aunt and uncle about this page some time ago and they liked seeing the old pictures of the school, which they had attended. I'll tell them you have pictures of the church. They'd love to see them! Thank for maintaining this site.

I moved to ct. in 1962 when i was 10 year old and i still think and miss the town of grand isle maine. Some day i hope to move back.

My 3rd Great Grandfather Joseph St.Jean and his family lived in Grand Isle, Maine in 1880. I don't have any photos of him and know nothing about him or the town where he lived. I've never been to the area and have been fascinated by your website. Thank you so much for your efforts in opening a window into the past.
